The bodies of a husband and wife, who had been missing for a week, were found on Friday afternoon in the Kakrola Ganda Nala (dirty drain) in Najafgarh, in the Dwarka district of West Delhi. At around 12 pm on Friday, a cab driver informed personnel stationed at the Kakrola Ganda Nala picket about two bodies lying in the drain. Following this, SI Raj Kumar from Najafgarh police station arrived at the scene with his team and recovered the bodies from near the Kher Baba Mazar (shrine).
Identification of Deceased
The deceased have been identified as 58-year-old Munna Lal and his 55-year-old wife, Ramvati Devi. The couple had been missing from the Bindapur police station area since January 17, following a complaint filed by their son, Ritesh. Dwarka District DCP Ankit Singh stated that a mobile phone was recovered from the pocket of the deceased, Munna Lal. When the number was contacted, the person who answered was identified as Ritesh, the registered owner of the recovered mobile phone. Ritesh stated that his parents had been missing for a week.

Background And Police Investigation
The deceased couple were labourers, and their son, Ritesh, does labour work related to auto parts. According to police, the bodies were partially decomposed, and an initial examination revealed no visible signs of injury. Police are awaiting the post-mortem report to clarify whether the cause of death is murder or suicide. To solve the case, police are also intensively questioning the couple's son and other close associates. The crime team has also inspected the scene. In the initial inquiry, police have not found any evidence of foul play, but the investigation is continuing from all angles. The bodies have been sent to RTRM Hospital.

Second Incident In A Week
This is the second major incident of a body being found in the district within a week. Previously, on January 19, the body of a young man was found in Chhath Park in Dwarka Sector-15. The young man had been murdered and his body dumped there; there were deep marks on his face and neck from a sharp weapon. In that case, police also obtained CCTV footage showing a person dragging the body and dumping it in the park, but so far, they have neither been able to identify the body nor apprehend the suspect.
