The body of an unidentified elderly man was discovered under suspicious circumstances in the Vijay Vihar area. Passers-by spotted the individual lying unconscious on the roadside near the MCD flats and alerted the authorities after noticing he was unresponsive.
Officers from the Vijay Vihar police station arrived at the scene to conduct an inquiry but were unable to recover any identification documents. The body has since been sent for a post-mortem examination. According to police estimates, the deceased appears to be between 65 and 70 years of age.
Preliminary investigations revealed no external injury marks on the body, leading authorities to suspect that the death may have been due to natural causes. However, the police maintained that the exact cause of death will only be confirmed once the post-mortem report is released. If the medical report indicates any signs of injury or external interference, officials stated that the case could be escalated to murder or other criminal charges.

The identification process has faced challenges as local residents stated they had never seen the deceased in the area before. To establish his identity, the police are currently cross-referencing missing person reports from nearby police stations. Additionally, investigators are scrutinising CCTV footage from the vicinity to determine the time and manner of the elderly man's arrival at the location. At present, the police are investigating all possible angles surrounding the death.
