The Delhi government is preparing to launch 100 Atal Canteens across the city, each serving meals to around 500 people daily. Every meal will include roti, sabzi, dal, and chawal at a subsidised rate of Rs 5.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the scheme aims to ensure citizens have access to clean, hot, and nutritious food. The government will provide subsidies to maintain food quality. To prevent irregularities, the entire distribution process will be conducted through a digital token system, eliminating the use of manual coupons.

All canteens will be equipped with CCTV cameras monitored in real time via a digital platform. Kitchens will feature modern equipment, LPG-based cooking systems, industrial RO water systems, and cold storage units. To ensure hygiene and safety, food samples and raw materials will be regularly tested by accredited laboratories.

Additionally, the implementing agency will be required to submit monthly reports detailing food distribution, employee health certificates, fire safety clearances, and food safety licences.
