On Thursday, a special spectacle unfolded to mark the 23rd anniversary of the Delhi Metro’s commencement of passenger services. To celebrate the occasion, the network operated a special service featuring 'TS#01'—the very first train to ever run on the Delhi Metro.

Reliving History

The commemorative run took place on the 8.3-kilometre stretch between Shahdara and Tis Hazari. This is the exact section where the Metro first began serving the public in December 2002. The aim of this special service was to recreate that historic moment and remind passengers of the Metro's early beginnings.

Atmosphere And Decorations

Festive Look: For this joyous occasion, the 'TS#01' train was beautifully decorated with flower garlands and a special commemorative banner.

Warm Welcome: Passengers arriving at the station were greeted with flowers, adding to the celebratory mood.

Passenger Reactions

The event evoked strong emotions, with many passengers lost in nostalgia. Describing the experience as "going back in time," commuters took selfies and shared their moments on social media.
