Gurugram: A married woman was shot in the stomach near a nightclub in Haryana’s Gurugram after she allegedly rejected a marriage proposal from a man who had been behind her for months. Two persons have been arrested in connection with the matter.

25-year-old Kalpana was shot on December 20 and was admitted to Max Hospital. On receiving information about the incident, a team from the MG Road police post under the DLF Sector 29 police station reached the hospital, as per a News18 report.

A written complaint was submitted by Kalpana’s husband as she was declared unfit to record a statement. As per the husband, Kalpana went to work in the evening on December 19. She informed him at around 1 am on December 20 that she was being taken to the hospital after being shot by a man named. Tushar

The husband told police that Tushar was a resident of Sangam Vihar and was behind Kalpana for the past several months. He had proposed to her despite knowing that she was married. He added that Tushar created a ruckus in their neighbourhood last month after Kalpana repeatedly rejected his advances.

A case was registered and the police arrested the accused who were identified as Tushar alias Jonty (25) and Shubham alias Johnny (24) from Uttar Pradesh’ Baraut on December 25.

Tushar told the police that he had befriended Kalpana around six months ago. He was once again rejected by Kalpana on the night of the incident following which he allegedly shot her with a pistol. A probe is currently underway in the case.
