Railway News: Eight trains that were cancelled due to the reconstruction of the railway station will resume operations from Friday. The restoration of these local train services will greatly benefit thousands of working professionals and students. Earlier, a total of 16 trains were cancelled on different dates because of the reconstruction work, most of which operate between Delhi and Ghaziabad, jagran.com reported.
Thousands of passengers arrive at Ghaziabad station daily to travel on local trains. Currently, construction work is underway at the station. Due to the ongoing construction near the railway line, the decision was made to cancel trains and change platform numbers.
Which Trains Were Cancelled?
-Train No. 64428 New Delhi-Ghaziabad – Was cancelled from 17 December to 26 December.
-Train No. 64431 Ghaziabad-New Delhi – Was cancelled from 17 December to 26 December.
-Train No. 64432 New Delhi-Ghaziabad – Was cancelled from 17 December to 26 December.
-Train No. 64433 Ghaziabad-New Delhi – Was cancelled from 17 December to 26 December.
-Train No. 64553 Moradabad-Ghaziabad – Was cancelled from 17 December to 26 December.
-Train No. 64555 Ghaziabad-Meerut City – Was cancelled from 17 December to 26 December.
-Train No. 64556 Meerut City-Ghaziabad – Was cancelled from 17 December to 26 December.
-Train No. 64554 Ghaziabad-MB – Was cancelled from 17 December to 26 December.
In another update, the Indian Railways has confirmed a nationwide fare hike for long-distance train journeys, set to take effect from this Friday, December 26. This marks the second increase in fares within just six months, a move aimed at generating additional revenue for the national carrier.
The fare revision is expected to bring in approximately Rs 600 crore in additional revenue for Indian Railways during the current financial year. The increase will apply to most long-distance trains, but there are exceptions, including suburban services and certain season tickets.
Despite the fare increase for long-distance travel, passengers using suburban trains will not face any fare hikes. In fact, all types of season tickets, both suburban and non-suburban, will remain unchanged.
