Delhi Metro Update: In a bid to ensure passenger safety and smooth movement, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has initiated a major overhauling work of escalators across its network. As a result, certain escalators will remain temporarily closed at affected stations while the essential maintenance is carried out.

Prompted by this, the DMRC has issued an advisory, informing commuters of these temporary closures, adding that while the work may cause short-term disruptions, it is necessary to maintain long-term operational reliability and passenger safety.

Delhi Metro Update: Escalators Closed At THESE Stations

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that maintenance work is currently underway on the escalators connecting the concourse to Platform 2 at five stations. The affected stations are:

- Akshardham

- Mayur Vihar Phase-I

- Mayur Vihar Extension

- New Ashok Nagar

- Noida Sector-15

“During this period, these escalators (connecting Concourse to Platform 2) will remain temporarily closed,” the DMRC said.

Advisory For Commuters

The escalators connecting the concourse to Platform 2 at Akshardham, Mayur Vihar Phase-I, Mayur Vihar Extension, New Ashok Nagar, and Noida Sector-15 stations will remain temporarily closed for essential maintenance.

To minimise inconvenience during this period, the DMRC has advised commuters to use the lifts available at the stations to access the platforms. “Passengers are advised to use the lifts available at the stations,” the DMRC added.

Commuters are urged to plan their journeys in advance and follow the DMRC’s official social media channels for updates while essential safety overhauls continue at the affected stations.
