Delhi Weather Today: The national capital, Delhi, persistently reels under bone-chilling cold, dense fog, as worsening pollution continues to deepen the struggle for residents. Delhi recorded its season's coldest morning on Thursday as the temperature dipped as low as 2.9 degrees Celsius. The toxic air in the city shows no sign of improvement any time soon, as it continues to stay in the ‘very poor’ category.
Delhi-NCR Weather Today: Alert For Fog As Temp Continues To Plummet
The India Meteorological Department has placed a yellow alert in Delhi, and the surrounding NCR cities, as they are experiencing biting cold and thick fog on Saturday morning. Visibility dropped drastically in several parts of Delhi due to the heavy fog, while temperatures continued to plummet, leaving the entire region in the grip of severe winter conditions.
The minimum temperature in Delhi is expected to range between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius, improving from what it was yesterday.
Delhi Weather Forecast: IMD Predicts Respite From Biting Cold
- As per the Delhi weather forecast bulletin released by the IMD, the mercury in the city is expected go up, providing respite from bone-chilling cold.
- Delhi is likely to experience partly cloudy skies with shallow to moderate fog for the coming few days, and the minimum temperature is expected to range between 6 and 10 degrees Celsius till January 20.
- As per the IMD, the weather is expected to follow a similar pattern on January 21 and 22, but the temperature is likely to witness a slight dip in the minimum temperature range. It is expected to range from 6 to 8 degrees Celsius.
- NCR cities like Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad are expected to witness similar weather with partly cloudy skies and moderate to shallow fog in the morning hours.
Delhi AQI Today: Capital Continues To Breath Toxic Air
On Friday, Delhi recorded an average AQI of 354 in the ‘very poor’ category. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI of Delhi at 7 am on Saturday was 368, deteriorating from yesterday’s average.
