In a tragic incident, a building in Jwala Nagar, East Delhi, collapsed on Tuesday morning, leaving at least five people injured after being trapped under the debris. The fire department and DDMA reached the location after receiving a call at 9.50 AM.

According to the Fire Department, the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital. The incident caused sudden panic among the residents.

Investigation revealed that the incident occurred when Avnish, son of Lieutenant Manbir Singh, tried to construct a hall on the third floor of the house in Jwala Nagar's Street No. 6. Avnish claimed that while constructing, the roof suddenly collapsed, leaving family members and labourers injured.

“Five injured persons have been taken to a hospital. The rescue operation is underway to check if any other person is trapped under the debris,” PTI cites a Delhi Fire Service Official.
