A section of the PWD road in Gokulpuri on Wazirabad Road caved in on Saturday, creating a pit approximately six feet deep. The collapse was caused by a leaking Delhi Jal Board (DJB) water pipeline beneath the road, compounded by recent heavy rainfall.
Barricades were immediately placed around the site, and traffic, especially heavy vehicles, was diverted via the Gokulpuri flyover. Residents reported that the road had been gradually sinking for several days before the sudden collapse.

On Sunday, the PWD carried out repairs, filling the pit after the water pipeline leak was fixed. Officials stated that the road surface will be rebuilt in the coming days to restore normal traffic flow.
Police and PWD authorities continue to monitor the area to prevent further accidents and ensure smooth movement for commuters.
