Delhi Police's drive against illegal immigrants is ongoing, with the South-East district police arresting 28 Bangladeshi nationals on Thursday for residing in India illegally.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the individuals had entered India unlawfully through the West Bengal border along with several other people. All 28 have been placed in a temporary detention center, where legal formalities for their deportation are underway. According to information, a total of 235 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants have been deported so far.

14 Foreign Nationals Arrested In Dwarka In September

The arrest of foreign nationals living illegally also continues in the Dwarka district. In September, police arrested 14 individuals from various areas, including 11 from Nigeria, two from Ivory Coast, and one from Bangladesh. All have been sent to a detention center to await deportation.

Dwarka's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Ankit Singh, stated that the district's operations unit and local police station staff are regularly gathering intelligence on foreign nationals living or moving about illegally in the area. The September arrests were carried out by several units:

Anti-Narcotics Cell: 9 arrests

Mohan Garden Police Station: 2 arrests

Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS), Dwarka Sector-23: 1 arrest

Dabri Police Station: 1 arrest

Informer Network And Deportation Process

Police officials explained that to identify illegally residing foreign nationals, they have activated a network of informers in various localities. These informers continuously provide tips to the police.

After verifying the information, police apprehend the individuals living without a valid visa. The arrested persons are then presented before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), which initiates the deportation process. Subsequently, they are moved to a detention center until they can be sent back to their home countries.
