Delhi Air Pollution: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of 309 in Delhi on Tuesday, placing it in the ‘very poor’ category. According to data from the CPCB’s Sameer app, Alipur (421), Jahangirpuri (404), and Wazirpur (404) were the most polluted areas in the national capital, with AQI levels in the ‘severe’ range.
Delhi-NCR AQI
In the National Capital Region (NCR), Ghaziabad emerged as the most polluted city with an AQI of 375 (‘very poor’), followed by Noida and Greater Noida, both recording 329 (‘very poor’). Gurugram fared slightly better with an AQI of 218 (‘poor’), while Faridabad reported the cleanest air in the region, recording an AQI of 195 (‘moderate’).
Area Wise AQI In Delhi
Most of the 39 air monitoring stations in Delhi reported air quality levels ranging from ‘poor’ to ‘very poor’ on Tuesday. At AIIMS, the AQI stood at 297 (‘poor’), while Lodhi Road and Tilak Marg recorded relatively better air quality with an AQI of around 153, falling in the ‘moderate’ category.

Anand Vihar and Akshardham both reported an AQI of 392, placing them in the ‘very poor’ category, with a visible layer of haze lingering in the air. Kartavya Path also saw hazy conditions, recording an AQI of 278 (‘poor’). Meanwhile, ITO registered an AQI of 347, indicating ‘very poor’ air quality.
Delhi Weather Update
Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 31.5 Degree Celsius on Monday, which was 0.2 degrees above the seasonal average, while the minimum temperature settled at 17.9 Degree Celsius, 1.9 degrees above normal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The humidity level stood at 58 per cent at 5:30 pm.
The weather department has forecast misty conditions for Tuesday morning, with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 29 and 18 Degree Celsius, respectively.

AQI Chart
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 'severe', according to CPCB standards.
