Delhi SWAT Commando Murder: A 27-year-old female SWAT officer with the Delhi Police, who was four months pregnant, tragically passed away after her husband attacked her with a heavy dumbbell. Disturbing new details have surfaced, revealing that in her final moments, she made a desperate phone call to her brother, during which she screamed before the line was abruptly disconnected. Her husband later allegedly confessed to the murder.
Kajal, who worked as a commando in the Delhi Police’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, died on Tuesday at a private hospital in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, after being assaulted by her husband, Ankur Chaudhary. The attack occurred several days earlier, according to a Hindustan Times report.
Police say that Ankur, aged 28, assaulted his wife with a metal dumbbell and smashed her head against a door frame at their home in Dwarka Mor, southwest Delhi. On the night of the attack, Ankur reportedly called Kajal’s brother, Nikhil, after a domestic dispute that involved arguments over dowry demands. He allegedly told Nikhil that he had killed Kajal.
Nikhil recounted receiving a phone call from Ankur around 10 pm on January 22, during which Ankur said Kajal was arguing with him. Kajal then took the phone in an attempt to explain the situation, but Ankur grabbed it back, ordering Nikhil to record their conversation while threatening to kill her.
"My sister took the phone to explain what had happened. Chaudhary became angry about something she said, snatched the phone, and told me to record the conversation as proof, saying he was going to kill her. Then I heard her scream before the call was cut off," Nikhil explained.
About five minutes later, Ankur called Nikhil again and admitted that he had killed Kajal, even instructing him to come and retrieve her body.
"When I arrived in Delhi around midnight, Ankur’s family had already arrived, and he had admitted Kajal to a private hospital, where doctors declared her brain dead," Nikhil said.
Kajal sustained severe head injuries and was declared brain dead at a hospital near Dwarka, where she was taken on January 22. She was later transferred to a hospital in Ghaziabad on January 25, where she succumbed to her injuries on January 27.
Who Was Kajal?
Kajal was from Ganaur, Haryana, and joined the Delhi Police as a constable in 2022. She underwent commando training before being posted to the SWAT unit of the Special Cell. Her brother, Nikhil, works as a constable in the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) at Parliament Street.

Kajal and Ankur had a love marriage in November 2023 and had a one-and-a-half-year-old son together.
Initially, a case of attempted murder was filed against Ankur, and he was arrested on the same night the crime was committed. He was produced before a Delhi court and sent to judicial custody. Now that the commando has died, the case has been converted from attempt to murder to murder.
