Delhi Traffic: To alleviate traffic congestion at the Pankha Road crossing in Janakpuri, the Public Works Department (PWD) will construct a flyover. This flyover will extend from the DESU Colony to D-Block in Janakpuri. The PWD has approved a sum of Rs 2 crore for a feasibility study. This study will examine all the project's obstacles and provide suggestions for addressing them, along with a report on vehicle pressure.

The Pankha Road crossing in Janakpuri, Delhi, is considered one of the busiest roads. It is also the main route for the residents of Janakpuri. Traffic jams here cause problems not only for the residents of the area but also for those from several surrounding assembly constituencies. This is also the main road connecting West Delhi to New Delhi and Delhi Cantonment via Cariappa Marg. Therefore, traffic jams are a common problem on this route.

Survey To Begin Soon

Work will soon begin on this road to assess traffic congestion and vehicle traffic. A consulting firm has been asked to study the area and submit a report. Based on the report, a decision will be made on whether to build an underpass or a flyover, although a flyover is more likely.

Janakpuri's Pankha Road primarily falls under the Janakpuri Assembly constituency, represented by BJP MLA and Delhi government minister Ashish Sood. He has directed officials to work seriously to address the traffic congestion problem here. It is believed that work on this project will begin soon, and it will greatly benefit the residents of the area as well as several surrounding assembly constituencies.
