A day after the inauguration of the new Parliament Office (PMO), the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has renamed the Udyog Bhawan Metro Station as Seva Teerth on Saturday. The station falls on the Yellow line of the Delhi metro, beside the Lok Kalyan Marg metro station, giving public transport access to lakhs of people across the national capital.

Besides the Seva Teerth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also unveiled the Kartavya Bhavan-1 and 2 on Friday. While inaugurating the new buildings, the PM said that a new history is being scripted, which will bear witness to a new journey of the country towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’. The Prime Minister also said that on this journey, the country needs to shed the colonial mindset, which has been ingrained in the minds of the people for a long time.

Seva Teerth houses the Prime Minister's Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat, all of which were previously located across different locations.

Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 Metro Station Changed

In a separate development, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has renamed the Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 to Shri Ram Mandir Mayur Vihar. This change comes in response to the long-standing demand of residents and the wider community, who had called for the renaming to reflect the area’s cultural and religious heritage.

The necessary procedures for the renaming have now been completed, and the updated name is expected to make the station more easily identifiable for passengers, while also strengthening the religious identity of the area.
