In the capital city of Delhi, people are already facing breathing difficulties due to rising pollution levels even before Diwali. Todays morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi remained in the 'Very Poor' category.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi recorded an AQI of 367 at 8 am today. During this period, the highest AQI was registered in Anand Vihar (370). Meanwhile, it was measured at 328 in Wazirpur, 324 in Jahangirpuri, and 369 in Akshardham.
Additionally, the AQI was recorded above 200 in many other areas of Delhi this morning, meaning the air quality in these localities has become 'Poor'.
On the other hand, the Delhi government released its Winter Action Plan for 2025-26 on Thursday evening. This plan has been implemented with immediate effect. Created to control pollution from October to February, the plan includes seven major themes and 25 action points.

These action points are: road dust and construction management, vehicular emissions, industry and energy sector, waste and open burning, citizen participation and monitoring, and green innovation. This action will be carried out in coordination with more than 30 agencies in Delhi.
