Dwarka district police’s Anti-Burglary Cell has arrested a husband and wife for allegedly carrying out a series of thefts at jewellery showrooms across Delhi. The couple, residents of Punjab, had arrived in Delhi in April 2025 and are accused of committing multiple offences in various parts of the city.

According to Dwarka District Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ankit Singh, the investigation began after Sahil Arora reported a theft at his jewellery showroom on August 23. Arora stated that on July 20, a couple visiting his shop had stolen a pair of earrings and gold studs. CCTV footage showed the man distracting the victim while the woman quickly stole the jewellery.

The police traced the couple’s movements using CCTV footage, which showed them booking a cab near Dwarka’s Sports Complex. Assistance from the cab company, along with analysis of call and internet records, led investigators to uncover a new contact number that eventually helped identify and locate the suspects.
