Following the ongoing investigation of a passenger returning from Kathmandu posing as an Indian citizen was revealed to be a Nepali national, another similar case has been highlighted by the Immigration authorities at Delhi’s IGI Airport.  The accused, identified as Deepak Sunar, was caught while attempting to board a United Airlines flight to Newark, USA.

According to the officials, Sunar, despite having a Nepali passport fraudulently arranged for an Indian passport under the name Chandra Bahadur Deepak to secure foreign visas more easily.

This is the second such incident at IGI Airport within a month. Earlier, another Nepali national returning from Nepal was caught posing as an Indian citizen. Immigration officials said detecting such cases at the clearance stage is crucial as it prevents embarrassment for Indian agencies abroad, especially at a time when many Indian citizens are being deported for travelling on fraudulent documents.
