New Year Traffic Advisory Delhi: Delhi Police and Traffic Police have implemented strict guidelines ahead of the New Year’s Eve launched a strict campaign to ensure a safe and smooth traffic flow across the national capital. Police officials said that there will be zero tolerance for any anti-social activity, especially on the eve of New Year's Day. 

Nearly 20,000 security personnel drawn from the traffic wing, district police, and paramilitary forces will be stationed across Delhi to regulate crowds and maintain law and order. Special focus will be given to major areas having a high footfall, including Connaught Place, Hauz Khas, South Extension, Saket, Greater Kailash, Vasant Kunj, Aerocity, and prominent marketplaces, with barricading and vehicle checks planned at entry points, party venues, and nightlife hotspots.

New Year Traffic Advisory Delhi: Diversions, Restrictions And Special Parking Zones

  • Vehicular movement will be restricted in Connaught Place (CP) from 8 pm on December 31. 

  • All vehicles heading towards CP will not be allowed beyond the nearby points like Mandi House, Bengali Market, Ranjit Singh Flyover, Minto Road, Patel Chowk, and others.

  • Only emergency vehicles like ambulances and police vehicles on duty will be allowed to enter Connaught Place.

  • Special parking on a priority basis will be available in places such as Gol Dak Khana, Kali Bari Marg, Pant Marg, Copernicus Marg, Minto Road, and Windsor Place. 

  • People traveling to New Delhi Railway Station are advised to use alternative routes like RML Hospital Road, Mandir Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, or Windsor Place.

Police Advisory To People 

Delhi Police have advised residents to celebrate the New Year responsibly. Authorities stressed that anyone breaking the law “in the name of celebrations” will face firm action. If you are facing any problem, you can call 1091 & 1096, the Delhi Police helpline numbers.
