Delhi Red Fort Car Blast: The Delhi Police on Thursday issued a travel advisory urging passengers to reach railway stations, metro stations and the airport in advance to avoid delays during mandatory checks, following multi-layer security checks after the car blast, which claimed 13 lives and left several injured near the Red Fort complex, on November 10.

The Joint CP of Delhi, Milind Dumbre, said "In view of the heightened security arrangements in the national capital, all passengers are advised to reach the railway stations, metro stations and airport well in advance."

What Police Advisory Said

Rail Passengers: The advisory urged the passengers travelling by train to arrive at least one hour before the scheduled departure.

Metro Passengers: The Delhi Police said passengers using the Delhi Metro should reach 20 minutes prior to their train's departure.

Air Passengers: The advisory said for international flights, passengers are advised to reach the airport at least three hours in advance.

The city police stated that the advisory has been issued to ensure smooth security checks, avoid last-minute inconvenience, and facilitate timely boarding amid the intensified security measures in and around major railway stations, metro stations and the airport of Delhi.

Authorities have appealed for public cooperation to maintain safety and ensure seamless travel arrangements during this period of heightened vigilance.

Soon after the deadly blast at the heart of the national capital, near Lal Quila, the Home Ministry of India directed all states to heighten security at all important public places, including railway stations and airports.
