Yoga Capital Of The World:  Rishikesh is a serene city, situated in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand and at the banks of the revered River Ganges. The North Indian city is known worldwide as the Yoga Capital of the World. Rishikesh has always been a centre of spirituality for centuries, welcoming spiritual enthusiasts and wellness tourists from across the world. The city's connection to yoga goes back to its ancient Indian tradition and scriptures.Believers also believe that Lord Rama himself came here to meditate for divine counsel and hence gave the city its name -Rishikesh, which means 'Rishi' as in a sage and 'Kesh' is hair, denoting the long-haired sages that inhabited the land long ago.
