Largest Silver Producing Country: Silver is witnessing a significant price hike in recent years, all thanks to growth in supply and demand. However, have you ever wondered which country is the largest producer of silver in the world? The world's largest producer of silver is Mexico, which highly impacts its overall economy. Mexico produced around 5700 to 6,300 metric tons, which is 202.2 million ounces of silver, according to the recent Statista report. It is also important to know that Mexico represents about 24 per cent of the world's total silver production. This is almost twice the amount of the second-largest silver-producing country, China, which had produced about 3,300 metric tons of silver in 2024.
Numerous factors have led to Mexico’s success as the largest silver-producing country, which is long-term dominance in the industry, rich silver reserves, and major mines located in Zacatecas, Durango, and Chihuahua.

China is the second-largest producer of silver in the world, with 109.3 million ounces of annual silver production. The list is closely followed by Peru, with around 107.1 million ounces of silver production, becomes the third-largest silver-producing country in the world. The Antamina mine is one of the largest producers of silver in Peru.

Mexico, China and Peru together produce more than half of the world's total silver production for global demand and supply. Major uses of silver are for electronic purposes, solar panels, and jewellery. Mexico's position at the top in silver production is all because to its rich resources and highly developed mining network, making it the world's largest producer of silver.
