Sultan remains optimistic and uses his celebrity to encourage others to value their individuality in spite of these challenges. The tallest person in medical history is Robert Wadlow, popularly referred to as the "Alton Giant." Similar to Kösen, Wadlow's height resulted from aberrant growth brought on by pituitary gland hyperplasia.
He was still growing when he passed away at the age of 22. Robert was renowned for being kind, courteous, and gentle despite his size. His hand span was 32.4 cm, larger than most people's heads, and his shoes were 37 cm (14.5 inches) long.
