Bharat Bandh Updates: As the Farmers' Protest enters its third day, the central trade unions and SKM have announced a 'Bharat Bandh' for tomorrow, February 16. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun conducting yearly board examinations for classes 10th and 12th, raising questions among students about whether the protest may disrupt the school timetable.

Workers and farmers are now planning a combined strike known as the "sectoral industrial strike" or "Grameen Bharat Bandh." Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), a farmers' organization, is inviting all similar farmer groups to join the demonstration. It will take place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the Indian Express, farmers would erect huge road blockades across the country between 12 and 4 p.m. In Punjab, numerous state and national routes would be closed for four hours on Friday.

Impact on Board Exams Due to Bharat Bandh

To address potential traffic concerns caused by political turmoil in North Indian states, CBSE has recommended students sitting examinations use metros rather than highways to reach their designated test centres. The state government has not approved any changes to school schedules, as CBSE, ICSE, and BSEB have already begun holding examinations.

What is Bharat Bandh's 2024 aim?

According to media reports, several private and government agencies, as well as local businesses, may close on Friday. Transportation, agriculture, and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) projects may also be halted. The future of the government-appointed commission on MSP established during the 2021 farmers' protest remains unknown.

However, emergency services like as ambulances, medical shops, and schools would be unaffected by the Bharat Bandh. This means that, while certain sectors may encounter difficulties, critical services will remain accessible to protect public safety and well-being during the strike.
