UPSC CSE Prelims 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched the Civil Service Examination -Preliminary (UPSC CSE prelims 2024) application process to fill about 1,056 posts, including 40 designated for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). This year, the commission has requested that applicants follow new restrictions for uploading photographs to the UPSC CSE form 2024.
The UPSC CSE prelims registration link will be live until March 5 at 6 p.m. Interested and qualified applicants must first register with the One Time Registration (OTR) platform before filling out the form on the official website, upsconline.nic.in. The exam is set for May 26.
UPSC OTR registration should only be completed once in a lifetime. Candidates who have already enrolled can log in with their existing registration number and password. Applicants who desire to revise their applications should be aware that the commission will accept modifications for seven days after the registration ends, from March 6 to March 12.
Candidates from the general category will have six opportunities to pass the most difficult exam. Applicants from OBC and PwBD would get nine opportunities to participate, while SC and ST applicants will be able to sit for the test as many times as they like.
The commission stated that a candidate who is assigned to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) based on previous test results and remains a member of such service would be unable to take the UPSC CSE prelims exam 2024.
UPSC CSE Prelims 2024: Format for uploading photograph
The UPSC has issued updated rules for uploading a picture during the one-time registration procedure.
- Candidates should not post photographs that are more than ten days old as of the commencement date of the online application procedure.
- The photos should include the name and date it was taken.
- The candidate's face should take up 3/4 of the photograph.
- The applicant's appearance should match the photographs provided at each step of the exam. For example, if a candidate submits a bearded image, he should maintain the same appearance throughout the UPSC IAS Prelims, Mains, and interview rounds. The same regulations will apply to applicants who wear spectacles or have moustaches.
