Apple's New COO: Sabih Khan is the newly appointed COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Apple Inc. In his new role and responsibilities, Sabih Khan steps into a position that was previously led by well-known Apple veterans like Jeff Williams and Tim Cook. Mr Jeff Williams will continue to work until his retirement later this year, he is taking care of the designing team and Apple Watch division section.
Who is Sabih Khan?
Sabih Khan was born in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India and later on he decided to move to the United States for his further education qualifications. Sabih was apart of the organisation, he has worked at Apple Inc. for more than two decades and is popular for his calm leadership style, and carries sharp attention to detail, and enhanced technical knowledge.
In his earlier role, he handled Apple’s global supply chain section. In his new role, he will become a successor of the current COO Jeff Willaims. Sabih Khan will be reporting directly to CEO of Apple Inc. one of the biggest tech companies in the world, Tim Cook after his promotion.
Early Beginnings & Educational Qualifications
Sabih Khan was born in 1966 in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, and moved to Singapore at the tender age of just 10. He completed his bachelor's degree in economics and mechanical engineering from the prestigious Tufts University. He later pursued a master's in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His educational background is impressive and he has a knack of knowledge in various fields.
Sabih’s Career Beginnings:
Sabih Khan joined GE Plastics, currently known as SABIC, and there he worked as an application development and key account technical leader. Then, he began working with Apple Inc. in the year 1995. During his 30-year stint at the tech company, he was a part of multiple crucial decisions that benefited the company and played a pivotal role in shaping Apple's global supply chain.
Inspiring Journey:
In 2019, he became the senior vice president of the operations at Apple Inc. and was responsible for creating alliances with the suppliers of green manufacturing, helping in planet conservation measures. Tim Cook praised Sabih Khan for reducing Apple's carbon footprint by more than 60 percent which is something big. The 59-year-old, Sabih Khan introduced new and fine technologies that enhanced the manufacturing of the Apple Inc.
Apple CEO Tim Cook appreciated Mr Sabih Khan, addressing him as a "brilliant strategist and one of the central architects of Apple's supply chain."
"Sabih leads with heart and values, and I know he will make an exceptional chief operating officer. He helped ensure that Apple can be nimble in response to global challenges," he further mentioned.
