Bengaluru Schools Closed Today?: Bengaluru and parts of Karnataka are gearing up for intense rainfall as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an 'orange' alert for the city and its nearby districts, until December 3. The IMD has also predicted light to moderate rainfall across the region till December 5 due to adverse weather conditions.
Despite the rain alert, no official announcement has been made regarding the closure of schools and colleges in Bengaluru. As of now, all educational institutions in the city will remain open on Monday, December 2.
Locals Demand School Closures Amid Safety Concerns
With heavy rain expected, locals in Bengaluru have raised concerns about student safety and are urging authorities to declare a holiday for schools. Navigating through the city during adverse weather poses risks, they argue.
Meanwhile, in neighboring districts like Kolar and Chikkaballapur, schools and colleges have declared a holiday for December 2 in light of the IMD alert.

A concerned user urged authorities, saying, "@DC_BUrban, please declare a holiday for Bengaluru schools. It is raining continuously, and we are scared to send our children to school." They also questioned the disparity, adding, "@osd_cmkarnataka, all other states are declaring holidays for schools and colleges due to heavy rain. Why is this not happening in Bengaluru?"
