Bihar Holiday Calendar 2024 For Schools Released, No Summer Vacation For Teachers; Check Holiday List Here

Bihar School Holiday Calendar 2024: The Department of Education, Bihar, has issued the Bihar School Holiday Calendar 2024. According to a press release issued by the Bihar Education Department, the 2024 holiday schedule has been meant to meet the requirement of 220 working days under the Right to Education Act (RTE). Students and parents are advised to check the official notification for more information regarding the Bihar School Holiday Calendar 2024.

According to the reports, the holiday calendar mentioned that the summer break will only apply to students. Teachers are expected to work during the summer vacation. Parent-teacher meetings, extra classes, and exams are scheduled to take place during the summer break in accordance with the published holiday calendar. Secondary and senior secondary schools will also observe the ‘Manak Holiday Calendar’ which will be issued soon.

School principals do not have the authority to declare holidays other than those listed in the holiday calendar, and the District Magistrate is not permitted to declare leaves other than those listed in the calendar; if a leave seems necessary, must grant permission from the Education Ministry before the announcement can be made.

The 2024 holiday calendar has been released and the summer vacation will now last 30 days instead of 20. Schools will close for three days on Eid-Ul-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha. Holidays like Hartalika Teej and Jitiya have been canceled. Other notable festivals that are not on the calendar including Makar Sankranti, Rakshabandhan, Saraswati Puja, Janmashtami, Ram Navami, Bhaidooj, and Shivratri. Holidays that will continue to be observed in 2024 including Diwali, Durga Puja, Chhath Puja, and Holi.
