Madhubani School Revamp: Madhubani District Magistrate Anand Sharma took swift action after finding primary school students studying on a dirt floor inside a leaking bamboo hut during a surprise inspection in Benipatti block. The temporary structure was considered unsafe for both students and teachers, particularly during the rainy season.
Following the inspection, the district administration immediately stopped classes at the unsafe site and arranged an alternative facility for the students. The children were shifted to the nearby Upgraded Middle School Sinuar so that their education could continue in a safer environment while plans for a permanent school building are prepared.

Students Shifted to Nearby Permanent School
The administration relocated all primary school students from the bamboo hut to the nearby Upgraded Middle School Sinuar. The move was intended to ensure students could continue attending classes without being exposed to the risks associated with the leaking, makeshift structure.
The DM directed local education officials to oversee the relocation and ensure that students have access to proper desks and seating arrangements. Officials were also instructed to monitor attendance and ensure that the children settle into the new school environment smoothly.
New School Building Plan Initiated
Since construction of a permanent school building is expected to take several months, the administration has begun the process of developing a long-term solution. Development teams have been directed to expedite the necessary approvals and arrangements.
Officials have been asked to arrange land and funds for a permanent school facility equipped with essential amenities, including safe drinking water and proper toilet facilities. The initiative aims to provide students with a safer and more suitable learning environment.
DM Orders Regular School Inspections
The district administration has also emphasised regular monitoring of government schools across Madhubani. Surprise inspections will continue to identify schools where students may be facing inadequate infrastructure or unsafe learning conditions.
Education officials have been instructed to ensure schools maintain basic standards. The administration has also warned that negligence concerning student safety or substandard facilities could result in action against responsible officials.
Focus on Student Safety and Better Infrastructure
The swift relocation of the students highlights the administration's focus on ensuring safe learning conditions for children. While the students have been moved to a nearby school as an immediate measure, the proposed permanent facility is expected to provide a more sustainable solution.
The district administration will now monitor the students' attendance and the progress of the new school-building plan. The move is aimed at ensuring that children in rural areas are not forced to study in unsafe or inadequate structures.
