Bihar Government Teaching obs: In a major boost for job seekers in the education sector, the Bihar government is set to launch the TRE-4 (Teachers' Recruitment Examination – Phase 4) drive, with over 1.2 lakh teaching positions expected to be filled in government schools across the state.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed the Education Department to urgently identify vacant posts and begin preparations for the recruitment process.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Nitish Kumar stated:
“The Education Department has been instructed to identify vacancies of teachers in government schools and initiate the process to conduct the TRE-4 examination at the earliest. The state government has already clarified that the benefit of 35% reservation for women in appointments will be given to those who are residents of Bihar.”

According to officials, this round of recruitment will cover Primary, Middle, Secondary, and Senior Secondary levels. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will be in charge of conducting the exam. A detailed notification outlining eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus, and application dates is expected to be released soon.
Recruitment So Far:
TRE-1: 1.70 lakh teachers appointed
TRE-2: 70,000 teachers appointed
TRE-3: 66,603 posts filled out of 87,774 sanctioned
The TRE-4 exam is scheduled to be conducted before the Model Code of Conduct kicks in for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, expected later this year.
With this massive hiring drive, the Bihar government aims to address the ongoing shortage of teachers and enhance the quality of education in government-run institutions.
