Important themes according to CAT sections are as follows:
- Quantitative Aptitude (QA): Time and Work, Permutation & Combination, Interests (SI, CI), Profit, loss, and Discounts, Time, Speed, and Distance, Trigonometry, Logarithms, and Sets, Probability, Number System, Basic Arithmetic, Geometry & Mensuration, and Algebra.
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR): Blood Relations, Clocks & Calendars, Puzzles, Assumption and Binary Logic, Data Sufficiency, Syllogisms and Venn Diagrams, Graphs Related, Tables and Caselets, Seating Arrangement, and Data Arrangement.
