CBSE Fake News: In its affiliated schools, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has implemented competency-focused education and assessment, and has recently made available sample tests in all of the core subjects for Classes 10 and 12.
According to the Board's official statement, these practice exams have been created to help students solve more application-based problems that need higher-order thinking skills and to improve conceptual comprehension of the subjects.
The Board has however cautioned schools and students that they should only access these sample papers through the official website, cbseacademic.nic.in, and not from any private publication.
Students should keep in mind that these sample papers are available on the official CBSE website for free and don't cost anything.
“It has come to the notice of the board that schools and students are being asked to access the CBSE practice papers from certain private publisher’s sites. The public is advised not to be misled by any claims and promotions,” the Board clarified in an official release.
For the Class 10 and Class 12 registration forms for the 2024 board exams, the CBSE has also released instructions for students, principals, and parents. The students' eligibility for entrance to Classes 9 and 11 and their participation in the ensuing year's Class 10 and Class 12 board exams must be ensured by the schools' principals and teachers by the exam bylaws.
