The Delhi Police has issued a major traffic advisory for February 16-20, as New Delhi hosts the five-day AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam. Global leaders, ministers, and foreign delegates are expected to attend, so Lutyens' Delhi and the surrounding areas will see tight security, regulated traffic movement, and some temporary diversions.
Approximately 4,200 traffic personnel have been deployed in 10 zones, each under a Deputy Commissioner of Police, with more senior officers to monitor the movement of VVIP convoys.
The Delhi Police stated that coordinated arrangements have been put in place to minimise disruptions and ensure the smooth conduct of both the summit and the board exams.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Delhi Police said it has coordinated with officials from the Education Department to make necessary arrangements and has also briefed affected schools and nodal officers.

High-security and controlled traffic zones will be implemented around Bharat Mandapam, Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, and Hyderabad House. During VIP movements, portions of Bhairon Marg and Mathura Road will be restricted, while traffic may be dynamically regulated on key roads such as Kartavya Path, Janpath, Akbar Road, Teen Murti Marg, and Shanti Path.
Traffic from outside Delhi will be diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways, although essential services like ambulances will be given priority without interruption. A major north-south corridor, running through Ring Road-Ashram Chowk-ISBT Kashmere Gate-Dhaula Kuan-AIIMS, will remain open without interruption, allowing for intercity movement.

Students carrying their admit cards or date sheets for board exams will receive assistance from the Delhi Police to easily reach their exam centers.
About the India AI Summit and CBSE Board Exams 2026:
India will host the AI Impact Summit this year, which is expected to be the largest of the four global AI summits held so far. The event will be attended by 15-20 heads of government, over 50 ministers, and over 40 Indian and global CEOs.
Expected to attend are Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani, Biocon Group Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams will be held from February 17 to April 10, with over 4.5 million students taking the exam. These exams will be held at over 8,074 centers across the country and abroad.
