What to expect at Ramlila Maidan

Intensive entry-exit checks: Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar and Special Police Commissioner Law and Order Devesh Chandra Srivastava reached Ramlila Maidan on Saturday afternoon to take stock of the security arrangements.

The Police Commissioner directed that special attention be paid to suspicious individuals and their activities. Special vigilance would be maintained at the entry and exit points of the crowd to prevent any panic or security lapses. Metal detectors have been installed for entry to the Ramlila grounds. People will be allowed into the grounds only after detailed security checks.

14-Zone Plan: Delhi Police has divided the Ramlila Maidan into 14 zones for security purposes. Plans have been made to deploy approximately 4,000 police officers for security and crowd management.

According to police sources, senior officers will oversee security arrangements during the rally. Each zone will be overseen by an ACP-rank officer, while two zones will be overseen by an Additional DCP-rank officer.

CCTV cameras: Along with over 4,000 security personnel, the entire event will be under surveillance through over 200 CCTV cameras and body-worn cameras. Organisers have been asked to cooperate with security arrangements. They have been asked to install high-definition CCTV cameras at strategic locations and set up a control room to monitor their footage. Details of invitees, volunteers, and the buses transporting them have also been sought.

270 CAPF companies: 270 companies of CAPF will remain in Delhi till November. In view of the possibility of rallies and sudden demonstrations by various organisations, the Central Government has extended the deployment of these companies in Delhi for the third time till November 16.
