250 CCTV Cameras To Monitor Rally

To ensure ease during the protest, around 200-250 CCTV cameras will be deployed to cross-check the venue and its surrounding areas, including entry and exit points, according to Delhi Police. Live footage will be reviewed by dedicated control rooms to let officials track crowd movement and respond at any given point in time.

Body-worn cameras and AI-enabled cameras will be used for scanning faces in and around the ground. A temporary control room will coordinate surveillance and relay instructions to personnel on the ground. The arrangements are made for maintaining surveillance across the venue and ensuring that any disruption or emergency is detected quickly.

Arrangents in the Ramlila Maidan

Officials have divided the Ramlila Maidan into 14 zones to monitor the area. Each zone will be supervised by an assistant commissioner of police – a rank officer. These zones will be categorised into eight regions, which will be monitored by senior police officers.

Nearly 3,000-3,500 police personnel are likely to be deployed in and around the Maidan, along with central armed police forces. Cops are also preparing for a crowd of approximately 50,000 people.Out of the eight gates in the venue, only three will be open for public entry. A separate gate has been earmarked for VIP movement, while another will be reserved for senior police officers. Attendees will face two layers of frisking before entering the ground.
