CBSE Board Maths Exam Tips Class 12th: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 exams will begin on February 17th. The first paper is Mathematics. Mathematics is a challenging subject. Therefore, today we will provide you with a smart plan for the next 15-20 days. Instead of reading lengthy notes or new topics in this short time, focus on practice, time management, and revision.

CBSE Board Maths Exam Tips Class 12th: When are the exams?

The CBSE Board Class 12 exams are starting on February 17, 2026. The first paper is on biotechnology. The Mathematics paper for Class 12 will be held on March 9, 2026. The Class 12 exams will conclude on April 9, 2026. The last day includes papers in Multimedia, Data Science, and Textile Design.

Cover High-Weightage Topics First:

With less time left, faculty members advise students to revise selectively and focus on chapters that are both high-scoring and concept-heavy.

Gargi Kapoor, Mathematics teacher at DAV Public School, Pushpanjali Enclave, suggests that students should give maximum attention to calculus and core algebra.

To score high in a short time, revise the chapters that carry the most marks first (such as Calculus, Vectors, Matrices).

9. Inverse Trigonometric Functions

Practice Daily with Time Limits:

Dedicate 2-3 hours every day to solving problems. Solving papers with a timer will improve your time management during the exam.

Create a Formula Sheet and Review it Daily:

Write down all the important formulas for each chapter in a notebook and review them at least twice a day. This will reduce the chances of forgetting them.

Take Mock Tests and Solve Previous Year Papers:

According to Kapoor, students should regularly take full-length practice papers and analyse their mistakes. She advises, “Solve one full-length  3 to 5  paper under timed conditions. Review your mistakes and track your progress. This builds exam temperament and helps you manage time and stress effectively.”

Take at least 3-4 full-length mock tests. This will help you identify your mistakes and assess your speed. Also, refer to this year's sample paper (CBSE Board Sample Paper) for practice.

Maintain a Smart Mindset, Not Fear:

Many students try to solve too many questions without a clear plan, which often leads to confusion and tiredness instead of improvement. Teachers advise students to practise smartly by sticking to the syllabus, focusing on NCERT examples, and revising in an organised way.

Keep preparation simple and focused. He says, “Practice smartly, not blindly. Focus on NCERT examples. Make a small formula or notes book for quick revision. Consistency, accuracy, and confidence are the keys to scoring well in Math.”

Fear is the biggest enemy in Mathematics. Tell yourself, "I can do it." A calm mind will lead to quicker solutions. Fear only increases difficulties.
