School Holiday: In view of the Mahakumbhabhishekam ceremony at the Sri Rajagopalaswamy Temple in Mannargudi, a local holiday has been declared on January 28th in three taluks of the Thiruvarur district. This decision has been taken to ensure the smooth movement of people, crowd control, and security during the large-scale religious event. This holiday will only apply to the selected three taluks, while schools in the rest of the district will function as usual.

Why Is January 28 a holiday?

In this regard, a local holiday has been declared on January 28th for schools and colleges in the Thiruvarur district. The district administration has ordered a local holiday only for schools and colleges in Mannargudi, Nidamangalam, and Kottur taluks on January 28th. On that day, the Mahakumbhabhishekam ceremony will be held at the Sri Rajagopalaswamy Temple in Mannargudi.

To allow residents to participate in this Kumbha Purohitham ceremony, a holiday has been declared for the tribal communities of Mannargudi, Needamangalam, and Kottur taluks on Wednesday, January 28th.

When Will Schools Reopen Again?

Furthermore, to compensate for this holiday, the district administration has announced that schools will function normally on Saturday, February 7th. This holiday applies only to government and government-aided schools. Private schools will declare holidays according to the decisions of their respective managements.

Therefore, students will have a holiday on Monday, January 26th, for Republic Day. Schools will then reopen only on January 27th. Again, these holidays have been declared only for schools in Tiruvarur. Students are happy about this.
