CBSE Board Exams 2026: The examinations schedule for the practical examinations for Classes 10 and 12 for the 2025-26 academic session has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education, along with tentative dates for theory examinations. Students can access the full examination schedule on the official website cbse.gov.in.

The practical examinations will commence from November 6, 2025 and will conclude on December , 20256 for the academic year 2025-2026. Originally, these practical examinations and other assessments were set to begin on January 1, 2025; however, since schools will remain closed in January due to the winter season, CBSE has opted to hold the exams earlier.

CBSE Board Exams 2026: Theory Exams 

The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the written examinations for both the Classes from February 17 to July 15, 2026, scheduled from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. As per the official data, around 45 lakh students anticipated to appear for the CBSE Board Exams 2026 participate-an increase of three lakh compared to the previous year.

The second board examinations for Class 10 are scheduled to commence from May 15 and will conclude on May 30, 2026. Exams for Compartment subjects will be conducted on June 1, 2026, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The students must note that these exams dates are tentative as of now.

CBSE has divided schools into two categories:

Winter-bound schools: Practical examinations, project work, and internal assessments will take place from November 6 to December 6, 2025.

Other regions: Practical examinations will commence from January 1, 2026.

The board has clarified that these practical examination dates are final, and schools must complete all practicals and internal assessments within the given period of deadline.

Steps to check CBSE 10, 12 Practical Exams Dates: 

Step 1: Students must visit the official CBSE website: cbse.gov.in to check the practical examination schedule. 

Step 2: There will be a section for ‘Latest@CBSE’ available on the homepage.

Step 3: Click on the relevant announcement, such as ‘Conduct of Practical Examination/Project Assessment/Internal Assessment for Classes X and XII’.

Step 4: Download the attached PDF document or date sheet, which will contain the detailed schedule for practical examinations.
