CBSE Class 12 English Exam Analysis 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded the Class 12 English Board Exam 2026 at 1:30 PM on March 12 across India. Initial reactions from students and teachers have suggested that the paper was moderately easy and well-structured. The questions were aligned with the NCERT syllabus. Most questions replicated the CBSE English sample papers, as per many students.
The English subject is common to all streams, including science, commerce, and arts. The question paper consisted of three sections, namely, Reading Comprehension, Writing Skills, Grammar, and Literature.

Students have come out with different experiences. Most have said that the paper was easy and manageable within the allotted time. However, some students reported that the reading section was quite lengthy and required a bit longer to complete.

CBSE Class 12 English Exam Analysis 2026: Students’ Feedback
Students have reported that the question was moderately easy. Those who have solved sample papers are expected to score well in the paper. The question paper included unseen passages and case-based comprehension questions. Students said the passages were clear and the answers could be found directly within the text. However, they required careful reading.
CBSE Class 12 English Exam Analysis 2026: Expert Analysis
Teachers and subject experts have analysed the English question paper. They reported that the questions were straightforward and well-balanced.
Rachana Takshak, HOD - English, DPS Sector 45, Gurugram, said that the overall English Core paper was clear, balanced, and student-friendly in its design. The paper was notable for its thoughtful mix of short, long, and analytical questions, drawing on both direct recall and inferential reasoning.
Nidhi Gupta, PGT English and Head of Department, also described the paper as balanced. She added that the reading passages needed analytical thinking. The writing section followed the CBSE format and rewarded clarity, creativity, and proper structure.

Dr. Alka Kapur, Principal of Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, analysed the paper and said that it was well-balanced and assessed students’ understanding effectively. The competency-based MCQs tested comprehension and application skills rather than recall. Most questions were analytical, testing students’ analytical thinking skills.
