CBSE: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully hosted the National Adolescent Summit 2024 on December 20-21 at the National Bal Bhawan in New Delhi. The two-day event, titled "Life Skills, Mental Health, Safety, and Well-being," drew over 850 attendees from India and overseas, encouraging debate and collaboration on crucial adolescent topics. According to a news statement from the Secretary of CBSE, the summit was aligned with the objective of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and offered an opportunity to empower students and educators while encouraging holistic development.
The summit was opened on December 20, 2024, by Rahul Singh, Chairman of CBSE, who stressed the transforming significance of adolescence and the significance of education that goes beyond textbooks and classes. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of nurturing self-awareness and societal contributions through extracurricular activities, encouraging students to actively participate in the summit's events and allow their skills and voices to shine, according to the statement.
Himanshu Gupta, Secretary of CBSE, noted the mounting obstacles that kids confront in today's world, such as information overload and changing family relations. He emphasized the significance of strong counselling processes in schools to treat mental health challenges and foster inclusive learning environments, according to the announcement.

The National Health and Wellness Quiz tested knowledge and wit in an exciting competition that required numerous sessions due to high demand. The summit also featured panel talks on student difficulties, workshops for counsellors and wellness teachers, and special interactive sessions, according to the press release.
The summit finished with a valedictory ceremony on December 21, 2024, with Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of India TV, serving as the special guest. In his speech, Sharma underlined the significance of combating misinformation and cybercrime, as well as ethical media practices and critical thinking among young people. His lively Q&A session provided unique insights into teenage difficulties and highlighted the importance of initiatives such as Prime Minister's Pariksha Pe Charcha, according to the statement.
Medals and diplomas were presented to the winners of different competitions to recognize their remarkable contributions and achievements at the summit. The session finished with participants making a collective vow to emphasize student well-being, boost mental health efforts, and promote inclusive educational environments. The CBSE reaffirmed its commitment to empowering children through innovative initiatives, thorough counselling processes, and collaborative efforts with families and communities, according to the announcement.
