CBSE Post-Result Process: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced the post-result process for Class 10 Main Board and Second Board Examination 2026. Students who wish to review their evaluated answer sheets can now apply online for scanned copies of their answer books before opting for verification of marks or re-evaluation.

According to the official notification issued on August 5, the post-result process will be conducted in three stages. CBSE has made it mandatory for students to first obtain the scanned copy of their evaluated answer book before applying for verification of marks or re-evaluation. The Main Board Examination results were declared on April 15, while the Second Board Examination results were announced on July 18, 2026.

Applications for Scanned Answer Books Open Till August 9

Students can apply online for a scanned copy of their evaluated answer books from August 5 to August 9, 2026. The application fee is Rs 300 per subject. CBSE has advised candidates to carefully review their scanned answer books before deciding whether they need verification of marks or re-evaluation.

Verification of Marks and Re-Evaluation Schedule

After obtaining the scanned answer book, students can apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both from August 16 to August 19, 2026. The fee for verification of marks is Rs 300 per answer book, while re-evaluation costs Rs 100 per question, including all sub-parts. Students opting for both services will have to pay the applicable fee for each process.

What Happens During Verification of Marks?

CBSE has clarified that the verification process checks whether any answer has remained unevaluated, whether there has been an error in the totaling of marks, or whether marks were incorrectly transferred to the final score sheet. This process does not involve reassessing the quality of answers.

Re-Evaluation Process Explained

Students who remain dissatisfied after the verification process can request re-evaluation of specific questions. Only the questions selected by the candidate will be reviewed. CBSE has stated that after re-evaluation, the revised marks, whether they increase, decrease, or remain unchanged, will be considered final, and no further appeal will be entertained.
