CBSE or ICSE Board: One of the difficulties that comes along with being a parent is ensuring that your child receives the greatest education possible. The most difficult parenting decision is deciding between ICSE and CBSE as your child's educational board. When it comes to making sure their children are receiving the proper education, parents are faced with several issues.

By selecting the best educational organization for your child, you may foster their development into progressive world citizens who can contribute to the expansion and evolution of the planet. To accommodate the needs of the populace, the Indian educational system has both national and state-level education boards. The growth and development of your child are greatly impacted by the education boards and schools you select.

Every educational board offers benefits that can influence how your child develops in the future. However, due to their distinctions, they cannot be grouped. Your child's future, career, and personality are all greatly influenced by the experiences they have, the educational system they are exposed to, and how applicable the lessons are in each school district.

Hence, here is a comparison between a CBSE board and an ICSE board.

CBSE Board

One of the most popular and primary bodies of education in India, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), offers various additional disciplines in addition to the national curriculum. It holds national-level tests for students seeking admission to various undergraduate engineering and medical programs.

The All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) are two sets of exams that the board administers that have been approved by NCERT (National Council of Education and Research Training).

ICSE Board

One of the most renowned and esteemed educational boards in India is the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) board, which is run by the CISCE (Council of Indian School Certificate Examination). In India, the council is a non-governmental educational body that administers the ICSE test after the 10th grade. After the 10th grade, ICSE changes to the ISC (Indian School Certificate), which administers exams for the 12th grade.

The ICSE curriculum is thought to be more extensive and complex across all classes when compared to CBSE. Because of this, the ICSE board exams for classes 10 and 12 are regarded as being the most difficult.

To make you understand better, the following are the parameters considered to compare both boards:

1. Teaching

CBSE is more focused on preparing the students for competitive exams like IIT JEE, NEET, etc. The syllabus is easy, well-structured, and organised for the students to make it easy to grab.

However, the ICSE places more emphasis on project assignments, with 20% of the final grade determined by internal evaluations. The curriculum emphasizes detailed, application-based learning.

2. Scholarships

While the ICSE education board does not offer any kind of scholarship to its students, the CBSE education board sponsors many talent search exams and also awards scholarships to the students in different ways.

3. Acceptance

In terms of the distinction between ICSE and CBSE, ICSE is more widely accepted by universities around the world. Although the CBSE board is also more widely accepted, students with an ICSE credential typically receive more credit abroad.

4. Marking Scheme

For the CBSE Board, the total marks will be given out of 100, with each term receiving 40 theoretical points and 10 points for internal assessment. This results in a total of 100 points, with each of the two periods accounting for 50 points. To pass, students must receive a grade of at least 33% in each subject.

For ICSE, 80% of the marks will come from external evaluations and 20% from internal evaluations. The final score will be determined by adding the two total scores.

5. Board Transfers

In classes 10 and 12, the ICSE Board does not accept students from other boards. Students must have completed their 9th and 11th grades through the ICSE to be admitted to these classes.
