CBSE Syllabus 2025-26: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the revised syllabus for Classes 10 and 12 for the 2025-26 academic session, bringing significant updates to the examination pattern. One of the most notable changes is the introduction of biannual board exams for Class 10, to be held in February and March/April, while Class 12 exams will continue as a single annual assessment.
The board has shifted its focus toward competency-based education, aligning with the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023. Schools are now required to adopt flexible teaching methods, including project-based learning, inquiry-driven approaches, and tech-integrated education, to enhance conceptual understanding among students.
Key Highlights of CBSE Syllabus 2025-26
1. Biannual Board Exams for Class 10
Class 10 students will now appear for board exams twice a year—first in February and again in March/April.
The best of the two scores will be considered for the final result.
Class 12 exams will remain once a year, with no changes in frequency.
2. Competency-Based Questions & Grading System
The question papers will now include more application-based and analytical questions to test critical thinking.
Both Classes 10 and 12 will follow a 9-point grading system, replacing the traditional percentage system.
Students must score at least 33% in each subject to pass.
3. New Skill Electives & Subject Choices
Class 10: Students can choose only one skill subject among Computer Applications, IT, or AI.
Class 12: Four new skill electives introduced—Land Transportation Associate, Electronics & Hardware, Physical Activity Trainer, and Design Thinking & Innovation.
