CTET 2026 Form Update: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 has undergone a major reform that will benefit thousands of teaching aspirants across the country. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has officially reinstated the B.Ed. option for candidates appearing for both the primary and junior-level CTET exams. This update has been widely welcomed by applicants preparing for government teaching roles across India.
With this change, candidates with a B.Ed. degree can now apply for any level of the exam, expanding their eligibility and improving their chances in the teacher recruitment process.
Reintroducing the B.Ed. Option
One of the major changes to the CTET 2026 application form is the reintroduction of the B.Ed. qualification option, allowing candidates with a B.Ed. degree to apply for both primary (classes 1–5) and junior (classes 6–8) level papers. This update restores the eligibility criteria to the previous norms, providing candidates with greater flexibility in choosing their preferred teaching roles.
Apart from this change, all other procedures, including the application process, fee structure, and examination schedule, remain unchanged.
Reintroducing the B.Ed. option is a progressive step by the NCTE, opening up greater avenues for teaching aspirants across India. The CTET 2026 application window is already active, so candidates are encouraged to apply well before the deadline and thoroughly verify all details to avoid last-minute delays.
CTET Registration Process & Exam Dates 2026:
The registration process for CTET February 2026 is now ongoing at the official portal, ctet.nic.in. The online application window will remain open until December 18, 2025, and both the form submission and fee payment must be completed before 11:59 PM on the same day.
The CTET 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on February 8, 2026, in two shifts. Paper II will be conducted in the morning shift from 9:30 AM to 12 PM, while Paper I will take place in the evening shift from 2:30 PM to 5 PM.
The February 8 exam will play an important role in determining eligibility for several teaching posts, making timely registration crucial.
