CUET Preparation Tips 2024: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET), one of the most competitive entrance exams, acts as a gateway for students to pursue higher education in prestigious universities. Each year, lakhs of students take the CUET exam to gain admission to their desired university. To highlight this fact, as per data provided by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the number of students who appeared for the CUET exam for undergraduate courses has doubled from 9.6 lakh in 2022 to 19.2 lakh in 2023, a 100% increase.

However, don't let the numbers intimidate you. Like any other competitive exam, the CUET also demands careful preparation and attentive execution. A single mistake can significantly impact your chances of success. Therefore, to increase your chances of admission to your dream university, you must be thorough and avoid any errors that might negatively affect your applications.

Amogh Sanzgiri, Chief Business Officer at CUET, IMS India, highlights several potential mistakes that candidates may face during the CUET examination, along with valuable tips to overcome them.

Here are the key points:

Poor time management: The CUET exam is lengthy and requires you to manage your time effectively. Practising timed mock tests will enhance your speed and familiarity with the test format to succeed.

It can also help you determine which aspects you are better at and which you need to improve. To make the most of your study time, prepare a calendar and set clearly defined goals for yourself. By doing this, you will make the most of your preparation time and be more likely to do well on the exam.

Lack of revision: When preparing for CUET, one of the biggest mistakes you can make is to skip revision. The most effective way to retain information and improve your understanding is to review the topics you have learned.

There are plenty of effective ways to revise, so don't worry! You can make flashcards, summarise critical facts, and even practice solving previous year's exam papers. Not only will these revision tactics help you in identifying your weak areas, but they will also make your study sessions more engaging and enjoyable.

Skip re-checking the answer sheet: We all desire to achieve the highest possible score when it comes to preparing for the exam. One mistake candidates make is skipping out on re-checking their answer sheets. Though it is a tedious process, reviewing and double-checking your answers can make a significant impact.

You don't want to lose points for minor mistakes. So, take a second look at your answer sheet and compare your answers to the question paper, and you might just end up saving a few easy marks!

CUET offers a unique opportunity to gain admission to some of India's most prestigious universities without having to worry about breaching the sky-high boards marks cutoffs that were the norm before CUET. So, grab your books, get to work, and study hard.
