CUET UG Exam Delayed After Technical Glitch At Some Centres, Evening Session Rescheduled To 4 PM

CUET UG Exam Delayed:  In a recent update, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has informed candidates that the CUET UG afternoon session exam 2026, held on May 30, 2026, is now rescheduled for 4 PM. This postponement is due to a technical glitch that occurred at some exam centres. However, candidates must report to the exam centres at the prescribed time, i.e., 2:30 PM. 

In its official statement, NTA said that its technology partner, TCS, reported a technical glitch that caused the delay in the start of the CUET evening session exam. Earlier, the exam was supposed to commence at 3 PM. Furthermore, the agency has clarified that all issues have been resolved and full compensatory time is being provided to ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged.

CUET UG Afternoon Session Exam 2026 To Start At 4 PM

After resolving the technical issues, NTA has revised the exam timing for the CUET UG afternoon session 2026. Candidates are advised to report to their respective exam centres at the allotted time and follow all instructions diligently.

Afternoon session timing (revised):

• Reporting/entry: from 2:30 PM

• Examination begins: 4:00 PM (instead of 3:00 PM)

However, candidates who have appeared for the morning session are given the full duration of the paper. Once the paper is over, they will be allowed to exit the examination hall.

CUET UG Exam Held In Multiple Sessions

The National Testing Agency conducts the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026 across multiple shifts over 21 days. The exam started on May 11, 2026. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to conclude on May 31, 2026, but due to the Eid-ul-Azha festival holiday, exams originally scheduled for May 28 were deferred and extended into makeup sessions on June 6 and June 7, 2026. 

CUET UG serves as a gateway for admission to undergraduate programmes offered by central, state and other participating universities across the country.
