Delhi NCR School Closed:  In light of deteriorating air quality, the closure of physical classes for students up to Class 12 in both urban and rural areas of Gurugram, Faridabad and Noida has been extended till November 25, as per official orders.

Gurugram District Commissioner Ajay Kumar cited alarming air quality index (AQI) levels across the district in an order issued to extend the previous directive from November 18. Highlighting the health risks to children, the commissioner emphasised that the decision was taken to prioritise their safety.

Moreover, the order stated that online classes would be conducted for all government and private schools in Gurugram on November 25.

Faridabad District Commissioner Vikram Singh has also issued a similar order, stating, “All physical classes for students up to Class 12 will remain closed till November 25."

The District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar has announced an extension of school closures across the district until November 25 due to consistently poor air quality. The directive applies to all classes from nursery to Grade 12. However, online classes will continue as per the previously issued guidelines.

“In view of the instructions given by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddha Nagar wide letter No. 4911-17 Dated 18/11/2024 regarding the discontinuation of physical classes in District Gautam Buddha Nagar from Pre School to Class 12th due to the breach of Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi-NCR to SEVERE+ CATEGORY with (450+ AQI), all schools of the District Gautam Buddha Nagar are directed to follow the above order till 25th November 2024,” reads the notification.
