Delhi NCR School News: Amid deteriorating air quality in the Delhi-NCR region, the Haryana government has taken a proactive step to safeguard the well-being of school students. All government and private schools in Gurugram and Faridabad have been directed to transition to hybrid teaching mode for all classes, except for Classes 10 and 12, effective immediately until further notice.
This decision comes in response to the implementation of Stage Four measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to combat the alarming pollution levels in the NCR. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has also issued guidelines advising schools in Gurugram and Faridabad to adopt hybrid teaching wherever possible.
''All actions as envisaged under Stage-IV of the latest GRAP Schedule as issued by the Commission vide its order dated 13.12.2024 be implemented with immediate effect in right earnest by all agencies in entire NCR, in addition to the actions under Stage-I to Stage-III of the revised GRAP Schedule (December 2024) already in force,'' reads the notification.

This measure is in addition to the steps already enforced under Stages I to III of the revised Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which came into effect earlier in December.
Previously, worsening air quality and Stage III restrictions under GRAP led to the closure of schools in Gurugram for students up to Class 5, aiming to protect young children from the adverse effects of pollution. For students above Class 5, hybrid classes were introduced, offering flexibility to both schools and parents. These actions form part of a larger initiative across Delhi-NCR to address the severe air quality crisis while minimising disruptions to education.
