The Delhi Police have registered an FIR and started an investigation into alleged large-scale irregularities in a clerical exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). According to media reports, the SSC identified at least 53 candidates who used unfair means to cheat in the online examination. The question paper was reportedly leaked from the exam center itself. It is alleged that several crores of rupees were exchanged to carry out the scam, according to a report by the Times of India.

According to reports, most of the exam centers under scrutiny were located in Rajasthan. "Each compromised center had around 5-7 candidates. At least 10 such centres are being probed," a source revealed, as reported by TOI.

The SSC identified irregularities in the answer sheets of 53 candidates who answered nearly all questions correctly, raising suspicions. Further analysis showed that the answers from these candidates followed an exact pattern. This led the SSC to alert the police, who subsequently registered a case under sections related to cheating and forgery, as per the media reports.

Officials noted that the examination followed a similar pattern to other exams, where question papers were delivered to centers in sealed covers but were leaked at specific locations. Police suspect that a solver gang was involved in helping candidates with the answers. "A breakthrough is likely soon," an officer stated, according to TOI.
