Delhi School Admission:  The Department of Education (DoE) issued a circular regarding admissions to classes 9 and 10 in government and government-aided schools in Delhi, following reports of students being denied admission due to the lack of Aadhaar or bank account details.

The circular clarifies that no student will be denied admission after being allotted a school under the Non-Plan Admission process, except in cases of document discrepancies. Students up to class 8 will be admitted to age-appropriate classes throughout the academic year under the Right to Education Act (RTE).

The circular also stated that students will not be denied admission for not having an Aadhaar or bank account. Students allotted schools in previous Non-Plan Admission cycles must complete their admission process by September 16, 2024.

Moreover, the age-appropriate admission criteria will not apply to students who have passed the previous class from a recognised school or board during the 2023-24 academic year. The DoE further noted that mid-term transfers should be avoided, but may be approved by the Zonal or District Grievance Redressal Committee in genuine cases.
